Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio is one of 62 non-profit organizations in northwest Ohio to be awarded money from the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation.
The Choice Food Pantry at LSS will receive $25,000, part of the $1.3 million awarded by the Foundation.
"We are honored to support the incredible work being done by these organizations," said Mike Deetsch, executive director of the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation. "Their commitment to enhancing the well-being of our communities is truly inspiring, and we are grateful to play a part in helping them achieve their goals."
According to a press release from the Foundation, its "funding aims to foster sustainable and meaningful change. Whether it's providing safe and affordable housing, ensuring access to nutritious food, or enhancing educational opportunities for youth, the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that create lasting benefits for individuals and families in need."
The Choice Pantry at LSS serves around 900 individuals each month with a 5-day supply of food. Our Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year.
