Volunteers Impact Food Pantry
LSS food pantries helped families to prepare more than 100,000 meals last year – a huge and vital offering gathered from donations and served up by some of the most devoted volunteers on the planet. These programs are extra busy through Fall and Winter months; and LSS volunteers step up in response to increased needs. Our Volunteers were thankful and greatly encouraged by a Thrivent Action grant for our Toledo Emergency Food Pantry.
This gift enabled purchase of quality, nutritional and much needed food – right now for families experiencing emergency needs.
Thrivent Action Grants encourage “hands on” ministries. Highlighting just a couple examples of how this works:
- LSS Volunteers were thankful and greatly encouraged by a Thrivent Action Grant for our Toledo Emergency Food Pantry. This gift enabled purchase of quality, nutritional and much needed food – right now for families experiencing emergency needs.
- Belle Osburn, a former Volunteer of the Year, applied for a Thrivent Grant, matched it with her own $250.00; and bought 154 pounds of ground chuck for the our Toledo Pantry.
Thank you Thrivent. Thank you Belle and all LSS Volunteers!
