Ms. Smith was referred to Crossroads Financial Opportunity Center in May of 2014 by a local homeownership program to assist client with managing expenses, reducing debt, and increasing credit score in order to become eligible for housing application.  She needed to reduce debt below $5000 before she could qualify for application process.

Since entering the Financial Coaching program, Ms. Smith has negotiated and paid several outstanding debts and removed items from credit report reducing debt owed to $2890 allowing her to submit application for homeownership.  She is currently in the process of arranging payment for remaining debt to improve her credit report and increase her credit score.
