Together Toward Tomorrow

Over seven thousand meals for hungry families. Hundreds of people with disabilities receiving supportive services. Thousands finding hope for mental illness and addictions.

Each and every day Lutheran Ministries of Mercy affiliates are helping our neighbors, friends and families battle complex problems that prevent them from leading healthier and more productive lives. The need is climbing, the numbers are staggering, and our work together enables us to develop shared solutions that will create a positive tomorrow.

As we bring our collective knowledge and experience together under the LMM umbrella, we are achieving results that go beyond what any one of our affiliates could accomplish on its own. Consolidation of administrative services and costs, information technology advancements, program integration, pooled expertise, and combined utilization of buildings are among those efforts positively influencing our success.

Yet we know the greatest impact we make is one single person at a time and one moment at a time. The day John successfully completed months of counseling and group therapy to overcome his heroin addiction…or Mrs. Edwards who, with the help of long-term financial coaching, was able to move with her children out of a women’s shelter into their own apartment. Mrs. Edwards has worked to achieve stable housing, she is employed, her children are safe, and she is working toward becoming a Medical Assistant. As LSS clients find the courage to move their lives forward in positive ways we are there to lend a helping hand. This is the LSS mission and it is our calling of service to others. Yet this heritage is one we have never accomplished alone. But by the Grace of God and the support of many, our mission endures.

Your investment in the services provided by Lutheran Social Services and our LMM affiliates makes this possible. Your interest, your prayers, the hours you spend as a volunteer, your financial contribution, all enable us to continue this vital work. In a few short weeks we will be holding our annual meeting with the theme of “Together Toward Tomorrow” and in the coming months announcing our first combined fundraising eff ort under the LMM umbrella. We invite you to take part in these events and we thank you for your support of the life-changing work of our social ministry organizations.
