A Heart for Mission, A Vision for the Future
Monday evening, March 12, Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio, Luther Home of Mercy and Filling Homes came together for the fifth time as the Lutheran Ministries of Mercy hosting members of the Association of Congregations, LMM Board members and friends of our ministries for our Annual Meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons in Perrysburg.
Pastor Charles Campbell, LMM Board Secretary, led the meeting that included an invocation by Reverend Terry Cripe, Ohio District President LC-MS, and a benediction by Bishop Daniel Beaudoin, Northwest Ohio Synod ELCA as well as entertainment by soloists Nadine Pfaff from Luther Home of Mercy, and Sue Ellen Davis from Filling Homes.
Terri Rodriguez, LMM President and CEO reported to those in attendance the accomplishments and challenges faced by LMM the previous year. She spelled out plans for moving forward in 2018 and beyond to continue to best serve the thousands of people that look to our ministries for assistance each year, and she expressed gratitude for the support of our mission by donors, volunteers and dedicated staff members.
Topping off the event, Representative James M. Hoops, Ohio 81st District, delivered the keynote address. A former Filling Homes Board member and familiar with the “Heart for Mission” of our organization, Mr. Hoops spoke well to the theme of the meeting and the importance of the work being done by our Lutheran Ministries of Mercy.
In Board business, by unanimous votes, Mrs. Barbara Moellman and Mr. Tim Schumm joined the LMM Board of Directors to replace outgoing members, Reverend Ray Gottschling and Mr. Kevin Thierry. We thank them for their service to our Lutheran Ministries!
