Messenger News

Pastor Charles Campbell was honored as Volunteer of the Year 2011 at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Event at Grace Lutheran Church on May 9th under the theme: “Leaping for Joy”. 656 LSS Volunteers provided 8486 hours of service throughout the agency in 2011. We are deeply grateful for the commitment and sacrifice that each of our volunteers offer throughout the year in a variety of services including but not limited to stocking and staffing the food pantries, messenger mailings, document archiving and receptionists at more than 25 counseling offices and sites. Did you know that according to the 2010 Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and Volunteer Match, 67% of volunteers make a financial gift to the organization they volunteer? Also, volunteers give 10 times more dollars to non-profits than non-volunteers. If you are a volunteer for LSS of NW Ohio would you consider a gift by using the envelope provided with this issue of the Messenger? Your support is vital and the need is urgent as we seek to serve more people in need with fewer resources due to recent cuts from previous public and non-government sources of funding.
