Marv has been an active member of the American Red Cross, serving several terms as chairman on both the state and regional levels. He is a member of the Sandusky County YMCA Board and a past president of both the Sandusky County United Way and the Exchange Club.
Retired as Quality Control Manager at Whirlpool Corporation, Marv has continued to share his talents and abilities, beginning his volunteer career at LSS of NW Ohio in 1998. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2002-2004 and an ex-officio member of the board in 2005 and 2006. He has also served as chairman of the Nominating Committee.
Still involved, Marv is back on the LSS of NW Ohio Board. He currently serves as chairman of the Program and the Capital Campaign Committees. In addition, he is a member of the Development, Long Range Plan, Board Development/Nominating and the Congregational Contact Committees. Marv was also instrumental to the success of the campaign to make repairs and improvements to the Fremont office as well as the recent mortgage burning ceremony and celebration on May 4.
Marv has a reputation for getting things done so when a large quantity of office furniture was donated by a local Fremont business, he organized a group of volunteers and together they moved the furniture to the office and created a warm and welcoming setting for clients when they enter the building.
Our deepest thanks and appreciation to the 2007 Volunteer of the Year for all that he has done for the clients, staff and volunteers who serve LSS of NW Ohio.
